    Genesis 1000 Restore | Green 1998

Will echo what everyone has said. Nice Job!! Hopefully I can be inspired to do something. I have yet to fix up a grill other than simple stuff like cleaning the flavorizer bars and acquiring more hardware.

Rare one here in Mass. Weber FT400

Looks like it's sold. Not sure why the seller did not just delete the ad instead of marking it as "SOLD"

Adding a side burner to a Genesis?

I have a quick-connect hose that goes to my main house supply. At the other end, there's a 3/8" nut that attaches to the manifold. Yes. The burner tubes are the same. In some cases, the valves are the same other than the orifice being bigger for NG. This is true for the 1000-5000 models...

it was going so well..... any tips on de-soldering?

another option is this desolder pen device. You press down the pen to load it and then you melt the solder. Put the pen tip next to it and press the button which creates a vacuum to suck up solder. I preferred this over the tape myself...

Trick for tough bolts on lid/endcaps

The only issue is the compressor is not rated to keep up with the tool. It’s 2.5 CFM and the tool needs 4. Maybe it’s ok for one bolt to get it going?

    Adventures with a 14.5 WSM

I have never used water myself. Been smoking with WSM 18" for about 2 years now. I bought a cheap probe thermometer from ThermaPro. Works well. Has 2 probes, 1 for the meat and 1 for the grate. The first time was a big nerve racking but the probes made it easy. Now I have the system down...

    Going vegetarian? NOT

Looks good! My daughter is a pescatarian (seafood & veggies) so I'm always looking for meat free recipes. Just made jalapeno popper mac-and-cheese today. Very good.
