Darrell I think that Onward only owns the Weber distribution rights in Canada they don't own the company. I hope it's good news for keg owners myself now included again as I found one of the $149 deals yesterday.
"Onward Manufacturing continues to manufacture and distribute gas barbecue...
Thanks Pat I ended up doing just that, pulling it at 125 and letting it rest. It worked out perfect one end was a bit larger so me and some of the other guests enjoyed medium rare and the ladies got "done", steaked and throw back on.
I just put a 13 lb roast on the 22, running at 350 or so on the grate, was planning on pulling it at 130 for medium all the way around after a 10 min or so rest does that sound about right or is that too far along to pull off? Thanks!
Yep thanks for the idea I cut up a fryer last night and did nothing but season the parts and follow directions on the package and it was a large hit with the family. I can already envision some variations on the theme.
It's pricey (what new Weber product isn't) but it makes some great chicken and I believe the best pork loin I've had off my kettle was rotissed. Plus it's just fun to set up and use. I'd buy it again...
I do have to say that you 26" club guys make a good case. I love the performer for the table first and the ignition second. The storage bin is really a non-factor. Now that I have this older OTP platinum on the cheap a 26 would be pretty darn handy.
I'd rather have the 26 because I already have a Performer. If I didn't have the Performer and I wasn't cooking for 6+ on a regular basis the Performer is the gold standard.
Guys I have been able to order the holder direct from Weber customer service. I just explained that I was fixing up an older performer that was given to a friend. It's part #63058 Replacement Lid Bale/Brackets.
Wonder if we will ever see availability? Lids and bowls are already being produced for the Performer so minus a few punches in the bowl we'd be in business...
Larry you may be able to salvage that part just concentrate on getting assembly off without cutting on that bar.
Maybe enlist friend's help? I'd do it for a few cold beers if I was just a *little* closer. The rest of that grill is in great shape if nothing else and you don't want to...
I'm certainly no expert guys but I have rebuilt a few Performers.
For the paint on the kettle you can mask the pock marks off with some tape and hit them with the closest color match high heat you can find I've used I think duplicolor engine enamel brand before with good results.
I wouldn't...
There will always be a Performer in my yard no matter the model year. The work surface and gas ignition have given me my own version of an outdoor kitchen that gets used at least 5 nights a week and most Sat and Sun mornings.
I have had both generations but currently use a 2010 red. It was...
