    What happened to my post?

Yes sir! I must admit, I never read the rules. I just click "agree" and get on to it. Whatever "it" is. Anyway, I`ll just thank Larry for his "help"!

Grab a cold one, a sweater and chair... we`re smoking pork shoulder tonight!

Yes a Stella is... a Stella. I was turned on to this beer about a year ago and it has become my top 3. The Samuel Adams is American the last time I looked, brewed in Mass. I believe. Yes, thats BOSOX land but they still make a good beer I have to admit. Go Yanks. btw- Tiger won the open.

    What happened to my post?

Don`t know what happened to an earlier post in which I thanked a member of the forum for their service and conversation. I also added a link to their site. I apologize if I broke any rules. Just wanted to thank Larry W. for his service last week in suggesting some woods, as well as answering...

Grab a cold one, a sweater and chair... we`re smoking pork shoulder tonight!

Well Folks... everyone was happy with the pulled pork and the baby backs. I did 8 racks and experimented with two of them... always interesting but no keepers. However I did make the other 6 racks with my own rub and sauce that everyone loves so everyone was pleased and with the additional side...

    Ribs in foil or pan?

1: The slabs are going to be cut in half to accommodate the cooker and I always foil the ribs. Do I have to foil all of them individually or even two or three per foil or can I use a cheap foil pan and put four or five slabs in it with a small amount of liquid? Is this a new method? I never...

    Just a quick thanks!

Yes, your wife will think you`re nuts until she has the pork shoulder off the smoker and some ribs. Mine thought I was nuts too, now she buys me anything BBQ because she knows it tastes better! Yesterday I had her shredding the pork shoulder! Smoking takes lots of care but its worth it. You`ll...

Grab a cold one, a sweater and chair... we`re smoking pork shoulder tonight!

Well Gents... the pork shoulder is now pulled pork. I follow a recipe in one of the Weber books but I created my own sauce which I`m pretty happy with. Taste test went well this evening. I also smoked 3 baby backs this morning and I finally nailed it! My new Tel-Tru BQ300 really helped out...

Grab a cold one, a sweater and chair... we`re smoking pork shoulder tonight!

No practice run here. I have to work tomorrow evening into Sunday morning so my smoking has to be done tonight into Saturday afternoon. I`m also putting on 5 racks of baby backs around 7a tomorrow. I may smoke some chicken tomorrow as well just to see how it comes out. My preferred beer during...

Grab a cold one, a sweater and chair... we`re smoking pork shoulder tonight!

Hello Fellow WSMers! Its 8p NY time and I`m getting psyched for my all night smoke for Sundays Fathers Day BBQ. The family is excited. My brother in law just called me to see how the progress was going and to discuss last minute menu additions. Right now the sun is going down, theres a...

    What Was Kingsford THINKING??!!

I cannot comment on the Kingsford because I just started BBQing last summer for real. However, before I owned the WSM, I was using my Weber Silver One Touch 22 1/2 for smoking ribs. You can set the kettle up by putting charcoal on the left side and an aluminum pan on the right with water in it...

    Mounting a Thermometer

I`m not very "handy" so that thought of drilling my WSM kind of scares me. I may ask my brother in law to do so when hes over next time. Yes, I`m a wimp. ;D

    Mounting a Thermometer

I just received my Tel-Tru BQ300 yesterday and was surprised to see how large it is! Anyway, I have a smoke happening this weekend and wanted to use it so is it possible to just stick the device into the upper vent?

    Timing Question on Boston Butt

In the middle of my last smoke the skies ripped open and there was nothing I could do about it so I just continued to smoke away and even had to baste in the middle of down pour all for the love of smoke. Don`t let the weather stop you unless its dangerous...obviously. And yes, I have used the...

    Cooking Method for Whole Turkey

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Is this turkey safe to cook? Need to Get A Couple of Things But Where?

Update: I found apple wood, maple wood and cherry wood at Whole Foods on Long Island. I paid $7.99 each and the box is small. I`ll probably get about 18 - 20 handfuls from each box but right now, this is the cheapest option for me. Also, I really, really want to get away from using charcoal...

    My Sunday Cook...

Tony- I put my ribs on for about 4 hours so that explains it I guess. I got some more today to smoke for my Fathers Day Party which I`m hosting for the first time. Feeling a little stressed considering we are having so many people over, well at least to me... 24 is a lot of mouths to feed and...

    My Sunday Cook...

Tony, great job. I admire your enthusiasm as well as you bringing your son up BBQ. My big guy who is 5 also gets a kick out of smoking, great stuff to pass on. Anyway, what I wanted to ask you is how long do you put your ribs on the smoker? I have done this twice and mine look nothing like...
