Weber Kamado E6 fully assembled. Might have to return it?

Okay, quick follow up. In case anyone was interested :-) my lid is aligned now. It's only off by 1/8 of an inch comparing the left side to the right side. So that's not that bad actually

Weber Kamado E6 fully assembled. Might have to return it?

Only issue thus far is I noticed that my lid is misaligned a bit. If I slid my fingers between the lid and the lower bowl, the gap on the left side while I'm looking at the kamado was much greater than the gap on the right side. So I went ahead and put those safety bolts back in. Then I...

Weber Kamado E6 fully assembled. Might have to return it?

I'm pretty certain I'll like using this more than I like using the ceramic vision kamado. If my daughter wants the vision, she can have it.

Weber Kamado E6 fully assembled. Might have to return it?

I suffer from low self-esteem. I'm not worthy of such a finely engineered grill :-) I'm definitely keeping it. I just got it all assembled today. I'll put it to the test tomorrow after I burn in.

Weber kamado E6 first cook question

@Brett-EDH thanks for the useful information. I saw the PM. You gave me a lot of information to chew on and to get started. Let me give it a shot first and then if I have any issues I can always drop a line.

Weber kamado E6 first cook question

So I am coming from a vision kamado and I always used lump. I had those little rectangular fire starters. They worked great. I have lump and the fire starters for my E6. But I have never used charcoal baskets before... Nor have I used any kettles in the past. I think I'm going to do either...

Weber's Char Baskets Come Thru for Steak

I'm curious. How thick was the steak? If I cook thick Ribeyes or thick New York strip, stuff that you get at Publix supermarket, that seem to be about an inch to an inch and a quarter thick, and assuming I leave them at room temperature for 30 minutes before I throw them on the grill, it takes...

    E6 or EX6?

Well, it is a little different :) From what I've read, the pellets supposedly give off more smoke when they smolder between 165 and 225. So maybe folks need to be cooking for the first hour or two at the lower temperature to increase smoke absorption?

    E6 or EX6?

I appreciate all the advice, here and there. Nice layout of food. The one thing that bothers me is having to use a smoker tube on a pellet grill. That's not a complaint I hear a lot about the smokefire. I have a smoker tube that I bought for my Genesis 2 and I wasn't that happy with the...

    E6 or EX6?

Oh yeah, on the traeger forums. So, you deduced my screen name "T in FL" was me? You should work for the CIA :-) j/k When it comes to the food that I cook, my current grills are fine, they just lack the capacity. I take that back. The gasser has so much real estate. But I generally just...

Weber kamado E6 box dimensions? Not S6 (edited)

Thanks, all. Looks like the Amazon dimensions are for the box. Edit: But if anyone has the box and wants to measure it, that's appreciated.

Weber kamado E6 box dimensions? Not S6 (edited)

Amazon has the dimensions listed as: ‎30.6 x 36.8 x 29.3 inches I don't know if that's product dimensions or box dimensions. If anyone still has the box, can you measure the dimensions for me? I get a 10% military discount at Lowe's. And I prefer to buy it there and put it in my suv. They...

    Turkey shortage coming for Thanksgiving?

At one point when I was growing up, my parents decided to give up on the turkey. No one really liked turkey. I still don't So they did cornish game hens. Stuffed them too. Everyone at the table had their own hen. I think I'll smoke some hens this Thanksgiving.

    Longevity......

IMO, return it based on the quote. I did some research on pellet smokers. Liked the EX6, then the issues deterred me. Looked at rec TEC 700. Was in my price range. Also looked at Traeger ironwood 650 (has super smoke), pro, timberline. Camp chef too. There are issues with most of the...

WSCG / Summit Kamado divide and conquer?

Ah. that sounds like a simpler implementation which could save me money. So basically your charcoal grate is at the highest level, you put your charcoal baskets underneath the sear grate that's part of the gourmet cooking system. Keep your steaks on the outside of the SS grid for indirect...

WSCG / Summit Kamado divide and conquer?

I am a long time, well, the last 5 years, kamado user. 18" grid. It's been upgraded to have the kamado Joe classic divide and conquer grate system. I already have a Weber SE 410 gasser. So now I'm leaning heavily towards a summit kamado e6 since the 18 inch kamado grid is just too small. I...

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

So I read your post twice. the volume of the timberline 850 is about the same as the volume in the Pro 575.. but the timberline is slightly larger volume but certainly not 50% larger. Timberline is insulated on all sides. The pro is not. based on the air being pushed around, do you think...

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

Something is wrong. He stated that the traeger Pro 575 requires 25 bags of pellets. The timberline 850 requires 36 bags. But the timberline has a cookbox dimension of 22x16 (per bbqguys) And is double wall insulated inside the entire cook chamber meaning the sides the bottom and the lid...

    SmokeFire’s back on sale! 🔥

Yup, all points. the main feature, I think, with the smoke fire was it was able to hit 600°. Which is unbelievable for a pellet grill to hit that Mark on such a large surface area. It'll be interesting to see how weber solves the problems. I think the two grease drawers on the outer edges...
