ThermoWorks new online ordering system issues...

In the long haul, the new system is hopefully better. As an IT professional, you have to weigh the ROI in the cost of migrating past orders to the new system. Generally, it’s a waste of money as the past orders are completed and if you support the past sales (like Thermoworks generally goes...

Vortex and the E6 Kamado — need some help

I’ve used the vortex in the WSCG several times running wide open and never had that, just fantastic results. I usual just run fully open on the top, not flipped up. Did your rub have a ton of sugar? I usually do wings, but have done legs and thighs too.

    Best cash back credit cards.

The bank/credit card company charges the business a fee. Usually 2-3 percent, I believe. In today‘s world it’s just a cost of running a business, meaning we all pay more. Cashback rewards cost the credit card company and people that are good with credit make them very little. However, those that...

What would you pay for a new EX6 1st Generation?

At that price, any frustrations you encounter become more palatable. I’d also agree that it’s worth asking if they’d take less since they don’t seem to be selling. If Weber will warranty it and send you the welded chute, seems like a steal.

Looking for basic grate for Summit Kamado

I have the Smokeware grate. I used it once and went back to the factory grate. It’s a tight fit and I use my SnS low profile and vortex with the Kamado. What I’d really like is a 24” grate with handles and one hinged side, no center cut out.

    Charbroil Cruise thermostatically controlled grill

If they paid $1000 for it, they’d probably be ticked off since it appears everyone else can get it for $699 🤪

seeking comparo info on ThermoWorks Smoke vs. Smoke X4/X2 vs. Signals

Have you thought about a Fireboard 2 or Fireboard Pro? I’m a Thermoworks fan and have several of their products. However, I bought my first Fireboard as a Kickstarter backer. I believe this was before Thermoworks was even in the remote bbq thermometer game. Seems like they’ve been trying to...

What Do you Use for Poultry (esp. Turkey) Shears?

I’ve had really good luck with these so far. Biggest turkey I‘ve done is probably 14 lbs. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PGG7ZQ/?tag=tvwb-20 Looks like their maybe one of the sets you linked.

Where to purchase Weber Summit Kamado?

FYI, I first ordered a WSCG from Amazon. During assembly I found multiple parts damaged and called Weber. They wouldn’t replace the parts, but rather made me return it to Amazon. I then went to ACE and bought one locally. I was able to negotiate a very minor discount with the franchise owner and...

Recteq Launches A New Pellet Grill

With the "Again, a Recteq is no MAK", I do feel like that's directed back at me? Just because I own a MAK doesn't mean I'm trying to compare any of the pellet grills regularly discussed here (SmokeFire, CampChef, RecTec, etc.) to one. It would sort of like comparing a Weber Genesis to a DCS or...

Recteq Launches A New Pellet Grill

So now I got really curious about the 430 vs 304. A couple things I found to read made it seem like 430 might hold up OK. I guess it’s often used inside dishwashers and dryers. Maybe the poor looking stainless I’ve seen over the years is a lower grade than 430. So, I’m back to being glad that...

Recteq Launches A New Pellet Grill

Brian, is it better for their brand to set the price to make the product correctly or better to possibly have a bunch of rusty grills sitting everywhere in 5 years just to have kept a certain price point? If pricing keeps you from making the product as it should be made, maybe you shouldn't make...

Recteq Launches A New Pellet Grill

I agree they’re trying to stay competitive and middle of the pack on pricing. I have no concerns with 430 for the cart, shelves, etc. I’m just wondering long term, what the 430 barrel will last like and if they’re doing themselves a major disservice not charging $200 more and making that piece...

    New Traegers

I’ve had multiple Traegers and they’re fine pellet smokers. However, I always felt they were a little overpriced for the build quality. I need to go see this one in person sometime. It looks very nice from the vids and pics and has some awesome features. However, my first reaction is that it’s...

Recteq Launches A New Pellet Grill

The one negative about this is every part but grates, drip pan and fire pot is 430 stainless. Would be nice if the barrel was 304 at least. That info is from Recteq’s FAQ on the grill.

    ATC for the Kettle

IMO, A Fireboard 2 Drive, BBQ guru, Thermoworks Signal are a far better value. Even though they are more expensive, they’re not grill specific.

    2021 Genesis II E-315 Question

My S-345 has a box hanging inside from those holes, so it’s a common stamping thing. Look at it this way for non side burners…BONUS tool hangers. I don’t remember if the box is for side burner or iGrill and didn‘t feel like crawling under to check.

    Summit E6: adding gas ignition?

Buy a GrillBlazer Grill Gun or some other kinda torch instead. I've already had to replace the regulator on my WSCG and probably ran 1-2 1lb tanks through it before it failed. Now I pretty much never use it and either just use a chimney with a tumbleweed or the Grill Gun instead.
