    The invasion is beginning.

If cicadas are considered delectable by the aforementioned possum as well as the other random critters that wander through the yard from time to time, maybe that's why I'm not hearing them. Maybe I need to listen for crunching and the occasional belch instead. ;)

    The invasion is beginning.

I just stepped outside and listened, no cicadas. So maybe they're not here yet. Come to think of it, I haven't heard much from the peepers that're usually around, either. However, I did have to yell "You go home!" at the possum nosing around under the bird feeders.

    Memorial Day Sirloin Cap

Picanha! I cooked a few a few years back and they were quite good, especially when thinly sliced.

    The invasion is beginning.

From what I've heard of Malort, cicadas are an improvement. June 20 is Cicada Night at the Kane County Cougars.;) We were in Brookfield (IL) last Saturday and could hear the cicadas. I heard them every summer when I was a kid, and it was actually a bit nostalgic.

    Curb Alert !!!

Contact the seller/giver-awayer. If he'll hold it until Monday I'll pick it up and bring it along the next time I visit The Big Valley.

    PSA - Always wear shoes.

"Closed" is important. Some sort of sole is great and it protects the bottom of the foot, but if the structure of the footwear actually traps an ember or coal that falls from above...

What are you cooking for Smoke Day?

The way the grass has been growing, the only thing smoking for sure this weekend will be the lawnmowers! But there's a rack of small-farm spares in the freezer that I might be able to fit into the schedule.

    Chateaubriand and roasted potatoes

Great steak, but spill a little on the potatoes! Just some oil and salt, or did you add something else? Nice depth of field, too!

I actually saw a Sky on the road a couple of weekends ago; definitely the first time in awhile. The Pontiac Solstice is a little more (relatively) common, but still fairly scarce.

You can find yourself a nice driver for 1/3 or maybe even 1/4 of that. Keep your eyes peeled. "I'm gonna barbecue your A** in MOLASSES!";)

Got the new wheels and tires on the Fiero awhile back and drove it home today. I installed cap/rotor/plugs/wires/PCV/filters over the winter and it's running pretty good, but I need to keep burning off the old gas and replacing it with fresh. Oh, and it needs a new exhaust system now, too. I...
