Does anyone have a way to mark the positions of the lower vent so I can make adjustments without taking the lid off or getting underneath the grill to see how far the vent is open? I see how people mark the positions on the "One Touch" system, but I don't have that.

I grilled some chicken thighs today with just Killer Hogs AP and a little cherry wood. They came out really, really good.

Has anyone tried Weber Dry Rub and found it Really Bland? I tried it on Short Ribs, and had to add Creole Seasoning to get some flavor. Just got some Killer Hogs Rub. What is our opinion of that? I'm thinking I'm gonna like it.

My replacement lid arrived today. Sigh, they sent the wrong one. I have the original kettle, they sent the lid for the Premium, the one with the thermometer. I called Cust Serv and explained, they are sending me a thermometer, no charge!! Now I'll have a Premium grill with a thermometer...

Yep, I needed someone with younger eyes to see it. My warranty replacement is on the way! :D

I called Weber Customer Service to claim the 10 yr warranty on my lid. They needed the serial number to register the grill, said it was stamped on the lid damper....NOT! Nothing there but the MFG info. I bought this grill from Lowe's, does anyone else have an Original 22" Kettle without a S/N...

No, not going to measure. I can install the gasket and most likely fix the problem, but if I go to the trouble of measuring, I'll still have work to do. If all else fails, I have a pipe-fitter next door. [Edit] Installing the gasket make the lid not fit AT ALL!

It's difficult to control the temps, and I don't check on the coals, I just shut the vents and go eat. :)

It's not warped. It's like it's 23" in diameter while the grill is 22.5"

Hi all, I have an 18.5 WSM, and I know it's not supposed to be air tight. What about my Original Weber Kettle lid? Smoke comes out all around it, and I can move it back and forth about 1/4". Any solutions, or is this trivial?

OK, the results... had to discard a 1 x 4 piece, and a 7" piece. Other than that everything was great. Fire didn't die, brats got a nice sear and had that snap.
