Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

I am with Jon and Bruce on the ThermoPro TP19H. I have the TP19 which came out before the TP19H and I love it. The H is about half the price and is your best bang for your buck for instant read thermometers. I also have four other ThermoPro thermometers and have had no trouble with them.

Cassondra, the kitchen equipment and gadgets section along with Weber accessories section will have information on things you might want to enhance your grilling experience. Along with lots of advice and opinions on what’s best. Or, as people suggest things, use the search function to link to...

    front panel

I just made one last week out of a piece of scrap aluminum. My tabs were not quite as long as the template but that was as wide a piece as I had. Haven’t drilled the holes or painted it yet. Got the PDF template from Joel Young in the link below. He made the PDF downloadable in the actual size...

Weber Genesis E330 manifold bolts snapped and frame painting

You are right Steve, I never heard of it. Will have to watch out for it now that I know. Thanks!

Weber Genesis E330 manifold bolts snapped and frame painting

I would recommend PB Blaster or Deep Creep or other penetrating products. WD 40 is not a true penetrating product and the others will work better. Spray them a couple of times a day for a few days and they will come out.

    Weber q220 electronic ignition

The two tabs and two of the notches match up on both. Looks like you might be able to file two extra notches to match the 2022 year and be good to go. Pictures are not reality so only you can decide if it might work.

Okay, what panel are we really talking about. I am confused. ( which is easily done as I get older) 😆

    The Humor Thread

I am lucky that I live in a rural area and have three regular delivery people that are great. On a first name basis with them and they make sure nothing is left out in the rain or snow. The $20 gift cards I give them at Christmas doesn’t hurt but they gave me the good service first and I am just...

Love it Mark! Now, how do you get the sausage in there? Wrap it in?

Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

Yes, you should see an arc from the electrode to the burner tube. I would listen for the snapping as DanHoo has indicated. He says if it doesn’t snap, cleaning won’t fix it. He obviously has more experience than me. I only had to replace wires that burned up. I really suspect the electronic...

    No vegetarian recipe section?

Whether we get a vegetarian section or not, I see this as a wonderful progression. Fifty years ago when I started grilling nobody I knew grilled anything but meat. Then some tried fish and vegetables gradually entered the scene. I embraced the veggies/fruits and cannot imagine not grilling...

Newbie with an old Genesis--learning to refurb!

For your igniters, make sure there is no corrosion in the battery socket and instal a good battery. It is more likely the electronic module but it could be that the burners are rusted badly and the spark will not jump across through the rust. Happens to the igniter in my RV fridge. Sand the...
