Grease Tray Slide Rails -- Screw Question!

Dan, I've replaced most drip tray rails on my restores (Weber # 97783) and several times I've had to use Quiksteel by Blue Magic to fill the stripped holes. I've done it two ways: Apply the Quiksteel, let it harden and then tap the holes for some #10 or #12 1/2"long stainless screws. Apply...

The Big Adventure For A Genesis Jr

Kelly, First off welcome to the Junior Club. Sorry to hear how your "adventure" turned out. When the JR is all finished you'll have a story that, hopefully you and the Wife will look back on and laugh. As you have heard the Junior is though to find parts for it is not impossible. My...

    Found an unusual Weber 5000

Tony, Great story and even more importantly great find! Weber labeled this a 5500 series model to denote a permanent mount model vs the 5000 with the casters. Don't worry about the maroon pinstripes on the lid and the white pinstripes on the smoked glass. All the 5000/5500 models come...

Anyone try a orbital polisher with 0000 steel wool for under hood cleaning?

Jim, If you're referring to the top half of my lid that is fade in the porcelain, not carbon deposits. Jeff

Anyone try a orbital polisher with 0000 steel wool for under hood cleaning?

I buy Dawn Power Dissolver by the case, sells for around $62 from several online sellers. I like to order it from Staples as with their coupon it comes in under $50. Jeff

Anyone try a orbital polisher with 0000 steel wool for under hood cleaning?

Jim, Like I have stated in the past I use Dawn Power Dissolver on the inside of the lids and let it set 15-20 minutes. The carbon build up scrapes off like paint after using paint remover. Much easier than sitting there with a razor scraper. Regarding your idea of using a Buffer...I used...

    Catch pan brackets

Regarding the drip tray rails...If your Weber has 11 1/2" drip tray rails the Factory Weber part # should be 98057. What I do on my restores is buy the larger Weber # 97783 rails which measures 13 1/2" length that are more common and use that one. Jeff

    Weber genesis 4000 or 5000 ?

Jon, You sure about that? It appears the hood the OP pictured is the same pinstriped hood in both pictures. Either way, that hood looks like a goner. Jeff

    Another viable grill cover

I was thinking of grabbing one myself too but I already have several older Weber covers as "spares" You can see my two grills and Flame Fire pit out in the elements wearing their Weber covers. Don't fear, I have the Genesis Gold B uncovered off to the side for my Winter BBQs. Jeff

    Another viable grill cover

Larry, It does appear they are very similar but the icover has more size options than the zober model and the current price is as little cheaper on the icover. Looking at the customers photos and reviews there seems to be some differences on the vent locations on the covers. Some have the...

    Another viable grill cover

As most of you guys know I really like the older vented Weber grill covers as I can get almost a solid 5-10 years out of them before replacement. I saw this vented cover from icover today and it has the same vented strip (although mounted lower on the cover), as the older Weber covers and looks...

Show us your grill loading ramp! How do you load those grills in your truck by yourself?

Jim, My last three grill pick ups I had my Son with me and we loaded them in the back of a SUV but before that I did them by myself exclusively. So much easier with two people, especially loading the bigger Weber's. Jeff
