    Servo requires "tapping"

thanks for pic Will. My next question is does the pinch terminals on the cat connector hold both the cap leads and servo wires tight. concerned that the wire cross sections might differ enough to cause a flakey connection. Do the other wires just come out the side or do you still have enough...

    Servo requires "tapping"

Will, If you can, will you post a picture of how you attached the capacitor to the lan connector.

    Servo requires "tapping"

So Bryan, the results using a capacitor across the supply leads on the servo is very interesting and I will probably add a 25v 100uf cap from my parts bag to the blower/damper I am using. Did you try turning the filter on and see if you could get the same results as you would by adding the cap...

    Servo requires "tapping"

I too had the shakes when my damper was controlling around the 0-10% open position. I turned on the 60hz filter and problem now gone. I have very smooth damper and control action now.

    Heatermeter on a Primo

excuse my last statement. I feel my damper with the flat plate my be easier to adjust the stability than the newer plates with holes and flat plate. Also make sure you have good gaskets and do not have any leaks. You should be able to control at 225 t0 250 with the damper just barely cracked

    Heatermeter on a Primo

I have a Primo Oval jr and have got the HM dialed in nicely for a temp range from 180 up 400. My setting are as follows P 3.5 I.0035 D 6 Fan/damper setting as follows on 0% min 0% max 10% startup 65% I also run my thermocouple into the hole in the damper where the damper used to be held in...

How much 12V power is needed?

The power supply testing data was good to see. One thing that sometimes gets overlooked during testing is the background noise of the supply. This component can cause all the issues you might have with the HM not booting correctly or strange readings, mysterious reboots and response issues with...

    LinkMeter Home Question

Great Results Thanks Brian for the link. That was the information I was looking for. I have had fun with this project and now believe with a control fan/damper change I now have what I need for success. It has been interesting to see the difference between a MD and the Adapt a Damper on my...

    LinkMeter Home Question

Bryan, I have a quick question on the configuration screen. The PID entries are very clear to me. Where I need some clarification is the fan output line. Here is how I interpret that line. I can chose how I want the fan to run voltage or pulse. I can tell the fan to run above a set % . Next...

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

Cliff, Glad I could help. I noticed a couple things from your pictures. on the first picture there is a 2.2kohm resister mounted lengthwise on the board and its located by the diode mounted next to the power regulator in the upper right side. One the bottom the solder connection look like the...

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

Cliff, Not sure if you tried mounting project in the box before you tested everything, you might want to check Q1 to see if the leads are shorted, broken, etc. When I finished prelim testing I went ahead and mounted into case. I had fan issues and Q1 was one of the problems. The heatermeter main...

    Heatermeter Fan Issue..

Are you using a thermocouple for pit probe "0"? If you are, make sure that you selected probe "0" in the config program to be thermocouple. If you are using a MicroDamper, make sure the connections in the plug and on the receptacle in the housing are not shorting. When I assembled my MicroDamper...

Heatermeter 4.3 and raspberry pi3 not connecting to internet

Truly I had a DA attack. I`ve always had to connect hardwire to setup a pc or other device initially. I kept getting off track because the Pi3 has built in wifi instead of a usb adapter that can be pre configured most of the time. Only took 30 minutes to get everything done and set for first...

finally got connected to unit through a hard wire cable. From there everything went well. I am now working on the MicroDamper connection to my Primo grill. Hope to fire grill up tomorrow for a test and pid tune run.
