I've had success in reading the serial number off of a faded Genesis grill label by shining a UV light on the label. Somehow this will bring out the ghost image of the numbers that were printed on the label.
Agree, very informative. I've used citric acid on grill frame parts and I've used electrolysis for frame parts and smaller part like the tank scale. Not sure it would work on chrome plated pieces though.
Not sure that the new thermometer will provide that much more accurate grill temps. Don't think the lid is ruined, just don't see the point of it. But the big question would be, how does that grill ship via USPS priority mail for only $20??
A Genesis 3000 that looks that well taken care of and with the addition of the RCPlanebuyer's grates, makes you wonder if the previous owner was a forum member?
