Need help. Fan no longer working

Well this seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes when I power it up I only get about 3 volts on the fan jack and the fan won't work. Other times I can plug it in and get over 12 volts. Something must be not soldered correctly or something.

Need help. Fan no longer working

I set it to manual at 100% and measured the fan jack and got 12.4 volts. That seems right. So I plugged the fan back in and seems to work now. I set it back to auto and still working. Did me setting to manual make it work somehow? Thanks for the help. Not sure if something is shorting out...

Need help. Fan no longer working

Tried both fans I have, the auber and the original that is in the parts list and the auber doesn't work at all and the other fan barely runs at all. Looks like it's not getting full voltage or something like that. I guess I just need to do a whole new board. Ughh.

Need help. Fan no longer working

I had everything working fine until tonight when I soldered on the final probe and the center button on. After I did that the fan no longer works when I plug it in. It just makes this faint screeching sound. I did have a small mishap when soldering on the button, some of solder got onto the...

HeaterMeter working, however only when holding in my hand

I just tried again a few days ago and the Thermoworks probe would only display a temperature on the HM when I was holding the probe in my hand. As soon as I would lay the probe down it would display no pit probe. I did this over and over 4 or 5 times and it working (displaying temp) would only...

    Weird fan issue

Well I turned everything off and started from scratch. Turned on the HM and plugged in the probe and made sure I had the right preset for ET73 and then plugged the fan in. The min fan speed changed to 10% and max to 100. The pulsating at that point stopped and I could change the max fan speed to...

    Weird fan issue

I just built my first HeaterMeter and I'm having this weird issue with the fan. I asked Bryan about it and he is looking into it I was wondering if anyone has seen this sort of behavior before. The setpoint is 225 and I just have the pit probe plugged inside my house so the fan is running at...

    Auber Blower Fan

Can someone tell me how to splice the RCA into the dc power jack of the auber? I cut one end off of my RCA cable but I'm unsure how to splice it since the dc has 2 wires. Thanks

HeaterMeter working, however only when holding in my hand

I'm using the 1001X-OP model. They only work if I touch the board with my hand or if I touch the probe to the board. If not it says no probe connected. Tried a maverick probe I had laying around and it works fine too.

HeaterMeter working, however only when holding in my hand

It's definitely weird and quite frustrating. I purchased two of the thermoworks probes and they exhibit the same behavior. When I plug back in the iGrill probe it stays connected. Is their any sort of ground that I'm missing? I would hate to not to be able to use the thermoworks.

HeaterMeter working, however only when holding in my hand

Well small update, I had a different probe from my old iGrill and plugged it in and it seems to work fine. So there looks to be something wrong with the thermoworks probe. Does anyone else use these or know what might cause this? Thanks

HeaterMeter working, however only when holding in my hand

I have the thermoworks probes. The probe works great as long as I am touching any part of the heater meter or raspberry pi but as soon as I take my finger off it says no pit probe.
