Winter is just slow... Lots of changes for this year. I read the first part of the post as a 12yr old sil c and wondering about Weber products with IR burners. Had my performer dug out of a snow bank and using it since January.

It was a side burner gas line issue that was taken care of rather fast by changing the fitting on the manifold. If the grills box has a green dot sticker, or the manifold has an angled fitting for the side burner and a green dot sticker on the manifold it is not part of the recall.

My advise would be to remove it if you are not planning on using it. You have a nice storage space under your grill for it. They are chrome plated and rust badly when not in use. BTW, I use mine on the top for keeping things warm like taders and corn. Other wise I leave it out.

FYI, The reason I know of this sight is because someone saw this sight and "modified" there WSM and tried to have warranty replacements sent to them. It didn't happen. The "suites" know of all of these sights.
