Which charcoal grill is best? To me that's like asking 'What screwdriver is best?', because it depends on what you will be doing with it.
That said, I have a Weber gas assist SS performer that I think is absolutely awesome.
I agree with beef sandwiches from Paradise Pup...it's always the same level of awesomeness.
Frannies, I'm not so sure. I've had several poor experiences there and haven't been back in about a year.
The Plush Pup on Cumberland does a good beef sandwich as well.
I think those are locking nuts that you show in the first photo...just a different (cheaper) kind than most people are used to. Put them on so the flat side threads onto the bolt first. The domed side should have little stamp marks that compress the threads just a little bit to make the nut...
I use an Aubers ATC and love it. Sounds like there may have been several issues going on, but perhaps the unit was not functioning correctly. I had a bit of trouble with mine when it was new because the seetings were not suited to my smoker. I think I ran the auto tune function several times...
You guys might dislike setting up and taking down all the grills to take the photo, but I know I enjoy seeing the photos and being a little jealous of the collections. and the weather is perfect lately to be taking the photos...
That sounds about right. My brand new 2012 E300 gets to about 525F with all three burners on high, and I can't see the flames around the flavorizer bars
