    How to Deal with Rust

I would season the grates with Crisco, just like you would a cast iron pan. Then after each cook, while still hot use a weber brush to clean it, then spray it with olive oil and close the cover. You will never see rust again. This is what I do, and it builds up a nice dark black non-stick...

    Renewing frame paint

Erick, I just lightly sand it with 220 grit sandpaper. You just want to give the new paint something to adhere to. If you use paper that is too rough you will see the deeper scratches through the new paint. I use rust oleum gloss black, about 4 bucks a can at HD, about 2 cans.

    Yep....Another Genesis redhead restoration

Here's Ole Red, she was born in 1997, recently acquired and restored. She has stainless Flavorizer bars and cast iron grates. I have seasoned the grates and cooked a number of different things on her already. Huge difference from my Silver B, more even heat and no flare ups! I think the...

    Looking for redhead genesis hood

So, I just finished the restoration on a genesis 1000 redhead and now I am going to restore my silver B, and I would like to have their hoods match as they will sit right next to each other. I checked and the 1000 hood fits the silver B. Does anyone have any ideas on where I might try to buy...

    CI - which side up?

So I have been checking out the weber web site, and looked at some assembled weber gasses at the HD, and both show the CI grates with the flat side up. I have always had mine with the pointed/narrow side up. Any thoughts on which is the better way?

    Howdy from Maine

Hi and thanks for the add! I currently own three Webers, an old kettle, a 2000 silver B and a 97 1000. I have had the kettle and silver since they were new, and just picked up the Genesis 1000. She is fully restored now and I will post a pic in the gas grill section. Happy Grilling! -Hammer
