I’m from MIDLAND, NC and have had a WSM for 13 years. 5 years ago I gave it up after developing a meat allergy. Just recently I got the bug again even though I can’t eat beef or pork. I’ve been honing my skills and enjoy the mods.

I just put one of those on my old 18 inch WSM and did my first cook with it on the 4Th of July. Have you tried it?

I bought a spare just in case. Eventually the sensor cable gave out at the connector. It lasted about a year. Otherwise a great unit but the sensor is the weakest link.

I use the Bandit door and seals. Very little leaks.

Mike, my brass ring just failed and I fixed it with super glue, however, while at the Home Depot, I bought your idea of the 2 inch bolt just in case of another failure. This failure is so common I wonder why Cajun Bandit hasn't made a better one.
