    3D Printing vs SSP: Shelf

I just added a couple files to Thingaverse. There is two styles of tank holder, which I have called "A" and "B". There is a file for each style now in Thingaverse. Note the illustration for "B" is from the schematic for an export model is is has a type of tank hangar I've never seen, I...

2001 Weber Performer Deluxe SSP restoration

FYI, I believe that this color was a special color sold through William Sonoma. Model 827996 Schematic I forget what year mine was. I'll try to ask the guy I bought it from to ID it.

    New kettle coming?

Me too! It would be great to get a Performer with all stainless construction. A charcoal grill for a lifetime. Maybe with a 26" or, available in 22" or 26". I don't know the Weber gasser lineup, but I think there are (or have been) fully stainless gassers. It would be nice to see charcoal...

3D Printing vs SSP: Tank Block

There's a couple of different styles of the SSP tank holder. The tank holder is 2 pieces and I have seen two variations of each piece, potentially there are 4 possible variations. I have only seen three, I do not know if all 4 variations were available or when different ones were. At any...

    Non-SSP Performer Questions

These are my orders from 2016 & 2017. The shorter one is for the OEM wheels and the longer for heavier duty aftermarket wheels. Aftermarket wheels (In couldn't find this wheel this fall and used a similar from Tractor Supply where I bought my latest 5gal. LPG tank; Tractor Supply site offline...

    Non-SSP Performer Questions

I don’t know how this compares to other suppliers, this is where I have purchased it. They used to have a location near my house, but have moved to a different part of town. I think it was the only location, the seem to have multiple locations, or maybe partners now. I recently bought some...

    3D Printing vs SSP: Shelf

I used ASA. It should be sunlight resistant and hopefully heat tolerant enough. The printer I have access to is not enclosed and pieces this size didn’t print perfect, but, well enough (and better than polycarbonate.)

    3D Printing vs SSP: Shelf

This is the completed grill with the 3D Printed shelf (and frame rail end caps.)

    Non-SSP Performer Questions

This is excellent, again, thank you. It’s great to see the naked frame. My concern with the bottom shelf is not that I don’t want it, but, more what will happen when it rots away. Hopefully, I can I can mitigate rust on the two frame members. Fewer joints will help for sure. I’m going to try...

    Non-SSP Performer Questions

Excellent, thank you. I’m partial to the SSP; this grill will be in a salt water environment which is consuming my SSP. Hopefully the new frame style will be less susceptible to corrosion. The attached pics are of the SSP that was refurbed 7 or 8 years ago, with all surface rust removed and...

    Non-SSP Performer Questions

I’m looking at picking up my first non-SSP. I prefer the older one with the black frame and the stainless front panel. On the newer style with the grey frame and painted front panel, is the bottom shelf stainless? Are the shelves interchangeable? Can I install the Stainless(?) shelf from...

2001 Weber Performer Deluxe SSP restoration

That's brilliant, will use this on the next one. I did find these for applying paint/primer inside the tubes. They are long enough that you could cover the whole SSP top frame, applying from each end. Unfortunately, not compatible with the can of Fluid Film I had; the FF button came off with...

    3D Printing vs SSP: Shelf

Thanks. The ideal solution would be to have a wire shelf made like the OEM, but with thicker gauge SS rod.

2001 Weber Performer Deluxe SSP restoration

I've struggled to paint or prime the inside of the tubes on all of my restos. It really seems to me that for me the Fluid Film is the way go. I think that it is absorbed by rust and saturates it to where moisture cannot get to it. My concern with priming/painting is that it ends up on top of...

2001 Weber Performer Deluxe SSP restoration

You can trim the flange under the silicone cap. This nicely fills the hole in the control panel and allows the panel to lift off without removing the cap. As well, the cap fits on the lower assembly as intended and requires a shallower press to activate. 65737
