Jon, thank you for the tips, I'll try it. Photos looked good, something for me to shoot for.

I used the wire wheel on a drill to clean out the rust on the cooking grate. It took a long time. Theres still a little more rust there. I'll try the 4 1/2" angle grinder with wire wheel next.

My Q320 factory installed thermometer has no washers, only a wingnut. You could probably try with and without washers and see if there is a difference in temperature reading
