    I sanded the frame down and hit it with a couple coats of rustoleum. I still need to paint the emblem and the lid endcaps. I was able to drill out the broken screw in the pan rail and put new rails on And drip catcher. Threw a tank on and she fired right up. Burners are still good. I...

    Is it normal for burner tubes to move?

    Just reassembled my Genesis 1000 and the burner tubes move about a 1/4 inch back and forth inside the manifold. Is this normal?

    I decided to use the angle aluminum for a smoother look. It's plenty strong though.

    In that link it says the 1000 didn't start until 1996. Mine is a 95. Whats that make mine then?

    I plan on sanding the whole thing down and painting it. Also I'm going to put some kind of sealer in the gap around where to new piece is so water doesn't get in there and sit.

    So in another thread I posted how I was able to get 3 of the 4 screws out that hold the drip pan rails. I plan on attempting to drill the broken one out this weekend. Also I found an old guard rail in a pile and saw that it had a piece I could use to replace the rotted cross beam on the frame...
