    minimum servo opening while running.

This idea was not mine, but I used the original posters idea for my servo control, you can see pictures of them in this post. https://tvwbb.com/threads/primo-pure-servo-control.54580/#post-721609 No issues with the servo getting too hot, it's no where near any heat.

    minimum servo opening while running.

Thank you, I'll give a few things a try. I did change the servo pulse duration so that it can not close my vent all the way, that should stop it from killing my fire. at 0%, it is now open just a crack. I didn't want to play with the PID values since it used to be dead on. After thinking...

    minimum servo opening while running.

I have no blower, servo only. I'll look at scripts and see what I can do there, thank you. Current PID settings are P: 4, I: .003, D: 5

    minimum servo opening while running.

Is there a way to set the servo to a minimum opening while you are trying to control the grill, but still have it completely close when you want to shut the grill down? The way it is working now, if the grill over shoots, it will close the vent, sometimes for quite a while. This causes the...

Pork Butt's.... Had 4, 8lb pork butts on over night, they're just finishing up, had to pull one of them around 6 am. Little touch and go at first, it closed my vent and put out my fire due to an overshoot. Rest of the night went great. Primo XL with a servo controlling the bottom vent.

    I screwed up on assembly

You will need to put the chip in backwards compared to the divot in the socket, in other words put the chip in the correct orientation to the circuit, not the socket. There will be no issues.

    Thermocouple problems during first cook

I try to keep my pit probe at least 1.5 to 2 in. form the meat and the same from the edge of the D plates. If I'm running two pieces of meat I'll put it in the center of the D plates as long as there's enough room away from the meat. Like you I drilled a hole through a clothes pin so I could...

    Thermocouple problems during first cook

I guess my first question would be, are you positive that your thermocouple is a type "K"? Is it a trusted name brand or is it an Ebay/Amazon special of unknown origin? I would first try using a known good type K from Thermoworks or Omega or... any number of other known good sources of...

    Looking for an addition feature...

I hadn't thought of using a script like that Steve. That might just do exactly what I want. Thank you for the suggestion.

    Looking for an addition feature...

The overshoot was my problem. I started the grill up without the controller running. So the overshot was self induced. My overshot was 35 degrees and when I started the controller my grill dropped to about 228 ish before it ever opened the vent again. Then it just kept dropping. I let it...

    Looking for an addition feature...

Problem For people with really efficient grills like Primo, BGE any of the ceramics for that matter. Running servo only. If you overshoot your target temp on start up, say you want 225 and you hit 260. The controller will shut the vent completely until you get near the target. Unfortunately...

To tell you the truth, I have no idea... lol They just do. However it's way off. I've got about another 18-19 hours to go. I think it must calculate it based on a linear track and does not take into account the stall around 165 or the fact that the meat temp rises slower as you get closer...
