Ah that makes sense. The Gen 3 had many rusted parts so I picked up a donor genesis 3000 with the Ralph’s supermarket lid. Took it apart and these items got mixed together. I have the swing shelf from the 3000 as well still.
I’ve been putting it back together at my warehouse slowly as time permits. If I could buy wood replacements locally I wouldn’t mind as currently I’m just limited on time. If not these will have to do for now. I’ve updated the flavorizer bars and few other items to stainless, Weber crafted frame...
I finally got a chance to resume this project after being stored away for a few years. Anyone have any pictures of the underside of the left side swing shelf on the genesis 3 with the wide slats? Don't recall how to assemble that part.
I'm also looking for a stainless steel lid swinging basket for my genesis 3. Is plated steel still the only option? Does anyone have an item number for the swinging basket? Lastly did some grills come with 2 swinging baskets?
What can I polish the porcelain with to make it nice and shiny?
On the gas tank scale. Which is better — the old original one version or the updated 99243?
Genesis 3 side burner. All screws were rusted out. Will probably have to get the bracket fabricated. Where can I get the warning sticker that goes in the front of the side burner?
Is this the crossover tube you guys recommend replacing?

Also what's the best cover available for the genesis 3?
There we go! Swing basket. Really neat little basket -- must have for this project. I'm glad one of the two grills had the end caps that accept the basket.
Thank you for the link for the warming rack.
I accidentally broke the lever from the tank scale. Was too rusty. Can this be replaced? I only see the new tank scale #99243.
Also do you guys always replace the burner tubes? This is how they look. They did work before dismantling.
