I've also had the problem. Mine only showed up when i used an extension cable with the y adapter. When i used seperate wires everything was fine. I think the current draw from the fan was causing the problem.

I think an option of keeping the alarm local to the stokerlog would be awesome. I keep my stoker inside the house, when the stoker goes off its pretty loud. I couldn't imagine what my neighbors would think if it was outside! It's bad enough when my wife yells at me about it in the house...
Sorry to hear about your fustrations with the stoker. Ive had mine for about 2.5 months with only one problem but it wasn't the stokers fault.
This is how i use mine. I don't use a wireless bridge but i do have it tied into my network using a network cable. The top vent is about 1/4 open...
The coolest thing about the update is the temperture panel. I like that with a quick glance i tell how the smoker is doing. Especially from across the room!
On my wish list for the temp panel
a blower indicator
and an always on top would be cool.

Mine never came with calibration number either. Just did the boiling water method and wrote my calibration information in the book. Some were close to 37... others were not.

Fixed my own problem...Blower and temp probes should be separate. I went to Radio Shack and bought the material to make a new patch cord just for the blower and now everything is ok.
