    HeaterMeter Homebrew Controller

It continues to amaze me how people pick up on this project and are able to piece together their own solution from the countless forum posts. Well done Scott! Bryan / Ed, is this thing at a point where it can finally be wrapped up with a pretty bow so that the "massses" can have at it? If so...

HeaterMeter + LinkSys WiFi Router = LinkMeter

John, congrats! I would love to know what you had to do to solve the LCD issues you were having. That is the same point where I left off on mine.

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

Whoops, I just noticed that my PDF is missing the last set from the thread (page 24), and page 14 is out of place. I will fix it tomorrow for those interested. John

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

For those interested in reading this whole tread, you can download a PDF file of everything to date HERE for offline viewing. It's 242 pages long and where possible, all of the images linked within posts are shown full-size. Sorry, but I had to ZIP the PDF. It is less than 1/2 the file size...

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

I couldn't agree more Ed. Without Bryan's handywork on the code this thing wouldn't be anywhere near where it is today. Don't sell yourself short though. You seem to have a perfect balance of hardware and software experience. I was pretty active on the same thread when Bryan tossed out that...

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

Ok, I just looked back a few "chapters" in the thread here and I don't see anything mentioned about this. It looks awesome Ed! What is it wireless to? Where is it feeding the data back to?

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

I want to chime in and say that I hope you don't delete any more posts. I've read the whole thing, and when I went back to find some pieces of information things got really confusing because it looked like people were replying to posts taht don't exist. Its a monster let it be :-)...

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

Hey guys, I'm still alive. Watching the very active thread here. I LOVE some of the improvements that Gerry has made to the project. I still plan to document all of this in a "Instructable" to share the knowledge in a more concise and tested package, but that has been a lot slower coming that...

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

Bryan / Ed, I'm getting ready to re-attempt assembly of my controller (finally). This time I'm going directly to perfboard rather than deal with my flaky breadboard. Before I begin I just want to confirm that things haven't changed from Bryan's original Eagle design as seen on his blog...

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

I previously had a webcam on my wireless thermometer so I could monitor grill and food temps using my phone. I was at a parade with my family and the grill started to take off for some odd reason. I called my helpful neighbor and walked them through the process of closing the vents. Crisis averted!

Version 2 of my homebrew controller

Here you go Bryan: http://vtfood.com/bbq/heatermeter.php Doesn't work in IE. Not sure about Chrome or Opera, but it works great in Firefox. It doesn't need to be PHP. Just create a page like this to launch another, and put this code in the <head> section: <script> <!--...
