    Genesis EP-310 battery replacement

I thought some here would be interested, or at least entertained, that last night I had to change the battery in my EP-310 for the FIRST TIME. The grill has lived outside since it was delivered. I don't recall off hand what year it was, but I know the Genesys II came out the next year, so I...

How did I not know about ground pork?

I like picking up a jar of breakfast sausage seasoning, or mixing my own, and adding that to ground pork. It's a nice break from the tube style, and don't get me started on the frozen links or patties.

    Poly twine in B&B charcoal

Coincidentally, I came across the EXACT same thing in a Kingsford Professional briquette this morning. That’s too strange.

    Online Source for Smoke Wood?

Late to the conversation, but I'm very happy with Fruitawood as well. Here in NJ its hard to find decent smoke wood. I went with a combo box with post oak, peach, and pecan. All great options, but my favorite of the mix is the post oak hands down.

    Happy WSM Smoke Day!

For the first time I can recall, we had GREAT weather here for Smoke Day! Went with pulled pork. Used Meat Church Gospel rub and Matt’s recipes for Dr Pepper BBQ sauce and “sweet coleslaw” that he posted this week. Everything was excellent, possibly one of if not the best result I've had in the...

    Another Grill Cover Thread

Good to know. I've been through at least three iterations of Weber covers and none have been perfect. The latest ones I have are a few years old and use the velcro strap to hold them. These straps don't work for me and in fact caused damage to my 26” kettle. The biggest issue I have is wind...

    Pork Shoulder - 10 hours at 250°

Weather wasn’t cooperating yesterday, second year straight. So smoke day here was today. Prepped the butt with Gospel and Honey Hog last night. Pulled after 10 hours at 200°.

WSM 18” 2005 - repairing holes in base and water pan

Thanks Larry. With a bit of drilling, I think this could be the best solution. I’m not sure I’ll even worry about the extra foil for sealing considering how nearly airtight other screws are once I’ve done a couple of cooks. When I replaced the water pan straps a few years ago a couple of those...

WSM 18” 2005 - repairing holes in base and water pan

I thought of something like this, but couldn’t find out definitively if it was safe to use near where food would be cooked. I saw the stainless screw method and I think that should work well considering how other screw holes seal up pretty quickly after a use or two.

WSM 18” 2005 - repairing holes in base and water pan

I have two areas that I need to repair on my WSM. The first is a hole at the bottom of the lower section. It’s very small, about 1/8” and about perfectly round. No rust or other damage around the hole. Liquid tends to drip out during cooking, so I’d like to seal this up somehow in a manner that...

    CyberQ WiFi failed probe

I completely missed this post so sorry for the very late reply. I ordered my replacement from BBQ Guru. I didn't want to chance a compatibility issue since construction can differ making probes not compatible with every readout. I agree, the price and shipping can add up quickly.

What do you do with the leftover lit coals in your smoker?

Close it up, pour fresh coal on top of the old next time.

Here is my WSM smoke day 17!!!!

I'm a day late. This was the first year I was ready to go. Usually I have a conflict and end up a day or even a week before or after. This year I had a plan, but the weather here in NJ absolutely didn't cooperate. So I have 18lbs of pork shoulder on now! Still raining, but not as much.

Getting close to Kingsford charcoal deals?

I was just there on Monday but was holding off thinking we’d have a HD sale today. Might have to go back and stock up. Down to my last bag.
