Ok, I figured it out. The "Test" button doesn't do anything. The following conditions seem to be required:

- A Threshold temp needs to be specified for the probe (I picked a few degrees above the current ambient reading)

I had to go through three wall warts to find one that was close to 12V. The two from Linksys I had measured 16vdc+ no-load and 14.5vdc when connected. I tried a laptop supply and that was close to 12.5vdc noload and 12.4 when connected. I don't have a scope I'll bet they're pretty noisy too...
I assume that in the configuration page, if I click "Test" I should hear a tone from the speaker but nothing happens. I have 12.4v at the junction of the 1K resistor and the speaker (and the leg of Q2). and I read zero on the other two Q2 legs, which I believe is normal. What else can I check...
Just completed a new build and it seems to be okay. It was working before I got brave and bungled the network configuration while attempting to set a static IP address.
I did a "Reset" via the button and that didn't help, I did the norestore option from the Wiki and that didn't help...
