S-440 and S-460 are the "built in" (i.e. no side shelves but still on caster wheels) versions of the 450 and now 470 - is exactly like the S-450 except no side burner and no sear burner - all else (e.g. rotisserie, smoker box etc) the same
Over weekend bought a new-i -box (never used or even registered) Summit S-440 nat gasser for $550 - all there including heavy 9mm as grates, burners, flavos, and full rotisserie etc - appears the build date Jan 2007 but since never registered I have now registered for full warranty as new since...
Appears to be '07 Summit 650 nat gasser (early 650's didn't have built in rotisserie motor in sideshelf, so the rot motor etc was optional)
Asking $575 - what say you?? (Pics in link)

Thanks all
Thx Scot et al - yes agree that if patient can either find a better Genny 1000-5000 or pre-09 Summit or other to resto...or put the $450-500 resto $$ toward a new ep-410 if the GS-4 burner system is indeed a worthy upgrade (tbd)
No big hurry so I passed - too many uncertainties and better to put what would end up being > $450 into another grill (think I "wanted it to be better than it really was)
Thx Dave and L
Yes as Dave said, the biggest thing I saw in person were rusted flavors and that support bar across - it works but def would need replacing in a reno at $150 as Dave said.
Frame, lower cart etc all seemed good shape no visible serious rusting I could see that a bit of sanding and new paint...
Hell all
Found this on Craigslist- think it's a Summit circa 2000-2004? but not sure - Asking $150 and am considering; would rehab as a propane backup to my Broilmaster nat gasser - is it worth $150? Assuming I'd likely spend another couple hundred for new grates burners etc...
So the S-660 sold at $1500 - I'm not willing to go that high - and I don't want to have to build an island for the s-660 built it
but...have located a (freestanding) s-450 (I think it's a 450, because it does not have the sear burner, or the built in rotisserie) - but does have both the...
Thx Chris
Prob would eventually build in but not for couple years so yes would be freestanding for a while. Not sure about side burner as I've never had one...seems so me say they never use and others like having and use so don't know on that one
But getting a Summit at a agency price is enticing
Hi all

Quick question - had been thinking that based on budget and need I'd be getting a Genesis EP-410 SE (like the stainless innards)...
