You can spray it underneath yes, but no you cant paint over it. It doesn't completely dry. it would be great for all touching parts, nuts bolts and inside the tubing.

It's not one little burner it turns almost half of the grill into a sear station, in the older style the whole grill would have to be the sear station and in some cases that may not be desirable.

I had the igrill3 and took it back. I got the igrill2 so I could see the temps without looking at my phone all the time but still use it for alarms etc..
My igrill2 unit came with 2 meat probes and I bought an ambient probe from amazon.
