    Cast Iron

    Has anyone or does anyone use cast iron as a grate in their WSM? I’m thinking about one but I’m. Curious to hear others opinion. I’m guessing it has to have an effect on the meat, temps and time or even fuel consumption. Thanks in advance for any comments

    Q2 Temp Gauge

    Anyone have a recommendation for a temp gauges set up. I have a 20 year old Maverick system and I don’t think it is measuring the temps accurately. I don’t trust the lid one. I think it’s time for a upgrade.

    Q1 Cast Iron Grates

    Just wondering if anyone uses the cast iron grill on their smoker. I guessing it affects the meat and cook time and flavor. I was thinking like the Craycorts probably adds to the cleaning process with the weight compared to the steel grill type.

    No cook shots. Fired up the performer again today and the Spirit. Wife on the Spirit and crab cakes and me on the performer with 2 of the biggest Ribeyes we got from the butcher. She made here friggin potato salad. Never disappointing. We are the dynamic duo. Like the bull ****

    I worked my tail of Saturday, I tried to post this last night before going to bed. Just got on here and see I never hit post😂 I always do some brats, hit these on the Spirit for a snack while waiting for the star to show up. These turned out nice I will definetly do these maybe tweek it.

    I’ve seen a few recipes for this one, thought I’d give my own a run. 8# deboned PB. Trimmed some fat off and cut into about 2” chunks. Seasoned with Meat Church Texas Sugar. 2 chunks of apple in one caddie and finished with some SBR’s original.
