    Refurbish or buy new?

Update: The Q has been in use the entire winter, even in 20 below freezing and with the snow pouring down! The old redhead has been parked in the back of the garage. But now, with summer finally here I feel the need for some charcoal smoke! If I manage to get the charcoal going as fast as...

Must have accessories for the BabyQ?

I have a Q100 that I use when we go camping. I would really like the opportunity to do more than just grill on the BabyQ, what accessories do you use, and recommend, for the Q? Doing pizzas, egg and bacon and other frying would be great. Would that be possible?

    Refurbish or buy new?

The refurb has been put on hold, sadly. After doing some test runs on the kettle, I found that I really enjoy the ease of use of the Q for the moment. But maybe the kettle will get its chance sometime in the future!

    Redhead rehab

Nice job! What paint did you use?

    Refurbish or buy new?

So I took the weber kettle out for a testrun the other night just to experience the charcoal grilling again. It turned out quite different than I expected! For starters getting the charcoal going takes quite a bit longer than turning on the gas. Getting up to temp, and staying there also took...

Weber Grills: Why Do You Have What You Have?

    1. A 2002 Weber One Touch 18.5 kettle. This was my first Weber. It now serves as a firepit in the winter. I have modified it with a drum from a washer machine and a chimney in the lid. It seems no matter how I abuse it, it just refuses to die! 2. A 1997 red 22,5 kettle. This one I inherited...

    Refurbish or buy new?

Took the kettle out and gave it a good cleaning today. Status is as follows: The grates and the one touch system is beyond repair. The kettle and lid does have some surface rust, but I think I can brush it of an season it with some oil. Have been checking spare parts prices. If i refurbish and...

    Refurbish or buy new?

I am thinking about doing some charcoal grilling again after several years with a Q. In the garage I have my trusty old 1997 red 22,5 kettle. It is in desperate need of some touch and love. It needs new grates, a new ash catcher and one touch system, and a good cleaning. I am thinking...

    Do I need a PartyQ?

Don't plan on going low and slow any time soon. When that time comes I imagine I will be getting a WSM. If I don't need a PartyQ, it means I have more money to spend on accessories. I already own a chimneystarter and a dual probe thermometer. I think a pizza stone and a side table will come...

    Do I need a PartyQ?

I am thinking of getting a kettel for those special occasions when I have time to really enjoy the cooking! I will be using it for hot dogs, burgers, steaks, ribs, chickens and pizza. Most of the time for about an hour or two. Coming from a Q3200 I am a bit concerned that temperature control...

    Replace hose on q100

Not only are Weber parts expensive, but most of the time they have to be ordered and can not be bought in any store. Universal gas hoses and fittings however can be bought in many different stores.

    Replace hose on q100

Is it possible to replace only the hose on a q100? The regulator and all the connections are fine, and does not need to be replaced. Would it be possible to remove the hose and use universal hose clamps to connect a new hose to the original Weber regulator?

    Convert kettle to gas grill?

I would use it as a gas grill.

    Convert kettle to gas grill?

I am thinking of converting my old 18,5 kettle to use gas as heatsource. I have found a burner capable of delivering 23 000 BTU. Would be mounting it in the bottom of the kettle, where the One-Touch cleaning "wings" is normaly mounted. To help spread the heat more evenly, I would use a plate...

How much food can a Q1XX(X) take?

I am looking to trade my Weber GA for a Q1200 to use when I take the family camping in our caravan. I would really like to hear how much (and what kind of) food you have managed to cook on it at one time. How many people did you cook for?
