    from a manufacturing standpoint it could come from any number of dozens of things: the different colored paints could be more expensive themselves (due to the lower useage)or the other colored paints could add extra process steps or it could even be involved in the processes needed to switch...

    i agree... 99% of the folks buying a smokey joe just want the cheapest thing possible.. if youre looking for the green, my wife just grabbed me an Avocado Joe at the crate and barrel outlet store on clearance... win/win/win.. so there are green joes still out there...

    definitely can happen, although id be surprised by a new one failing so quickly... not sure about others by my perf burner/igniter does have significant problems with even a slight breeze, seems like the propane stream that flows throught venturi (into the burner tube) gets disrupted and ends...

    yes, you can use the Q hose (like with a 20 lb tank) to attach to a 5 or 10 lb tank... ive seen 10 lbers at Gander Mtn. or Cabelas... not sure if they went as small as 5 lb though... hope this helps
