Got my redhead to rebuild serial number says natural gas

Not sure if they're the same as mine, but just put a paint scraper underneath them and slowly pry them up. Mine weren't real nuts in the traditional sense, they are thin metal. I re-used all of mine. Good luck!

Bruce's Genesis Red Head 1000 Restore - Before & After

Hey Brian, if you have a Lowe's nearby they sell (at least near me in Maryland) slats that are nearly perfect in size, all you need to do is cut to length. I stained mine with Teak oil, still perfect a year later. I also was missing the slider rail parts for my side table, called Weber and as I...

    Genesis 1000 Refurb

If you have a Lowe's nearby, they sell the exact thing you need for replacing the wood on your grill. That's where I got mine. All that was needed was to cut for length and then finish. It's beenover a year and my wood slats look like day 1. See my reno here...

    Genesis Silver B Rehab underway.

Oh the pull of the Weber is strong. Once I finished my first rehab: https://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?64257-Renovation-Genesis-2-has-begun-lots-of-pics which is still going strong, I was hooked. The parts grill I used for my first rehab was fixed and sold. In the meantime I stole a Blue Weber...

I should have said I only sprayed the lid with simple green, no paint inside or out. I did paint the end caps matte black on the outside only.

Hard to tell but it might be as good as it gets. I did spray mine with Simple green to keep the surface wet as I scrubbed with 000 steel wool. One of my lids was simply faded and I couldn't get it any better. I would work really hard on one spot and see if it gets better, keep surface wet. If it...

Ideas For Finding Weber Grills To Rehab

This is probably old news to most but thought I'd throw it out there. Please chime in with other ideas. 1) Craig's List: I have alerts set in my Craig's List so that the minute someone posts a listing about Weber Grills I get an email. That is really helpful to get a jump on others especially...

    My newest Redhead.

I must get a Red Head, it is my quest now that I have 1 rehab under my belt. Like the alternating wood color.

Hi Carlos, I didn't paint the inside of the lid, I simply used very fine steel wool, I think it was 000 and Simple Green cleaner. Just spray the Simple Green and rub with the steel wool. It takes a lot of elbow grease ... a lot of elbow grease, but will result in a mirror finish. You can do the...

Yes, incredibly lucky for me they came nearly ready to go, they were 1 3/8" x 9/16" x 8'. The wood that came with mine (not sure if they were original or not) measured 1 5/8" x 11/16" x 15 1/4". That was close enough for me :-)

Digging your avatar. I got the cedar strips from Lowe's in almost perfect dimension, only had to cut them down from 8' lengths. Then I sanded down and applied 3 coats of Teak Oil finish from Watco. I bought that at Lowe's too I believe, if not Home Depot. Painted it on, let it soak a while and...
