Another PID tuning post

I'm using the blower specified in the BOM. The pit probe is center rear on top of the grill held with the bracket it came with. Thanks Ralph, I've set the "On at Max Only" and see how my next cook goes. I just got a roll of Nomex gasket in the mail so I can seal everything better and...

    Another PID tuning post

So I'm confused. I made the changes suggested and lit the charcoal using alcohol soaked cotton and the temperature came up nicely and stabilized. After I put the chicken on at around 15:00 the temperature started cycling widely, almost 50 degrees. I bumped the temperature up so I could eat by...

    Another PID tuning post

I'm sorry but I've read the wiki and the other posts on PID tuning and I still don't get it. I just did my first overnight low and slow and this is what i got: [/IMG] I have a King-griller, Heatermeter 4.0 and Ralph's rotodamper. Initial settings were B=4 (can't find any reference for...

    Expected WiFi range

I have a Belkin N600 running DD-WRT and have never had a problem connecting anywhere in my yard and I've connected to my router using my tablet at my next door neighbors so I don't believe it's an issue with my router. Now today I'm grilling with the HeaterMeter and I'm connected no problem but...

    Expected WiFi range

I know there are a lot of variables but I was wondering what people are experiencing for WiFi range on their HeaterMeter? My router is about 6 feet off the floor and less than 3 feet from an exterior wall . My grill is about 15 feet from the exterior wall, so about 18 feet straight line to the...

Getting Temp from La Crosse transmitter

It's a WS-1912-IT that I got at Canadian Tire, but I ordered a rain sensor TX32U-IT directly from LaCrosse and it works with the weather station. I did get a Qual:0 at one point but it didn't link up.

Getting Temp from La Crosse transmitter

Yes there's a a 78mm grey wire soldered into the board. https://www.flickr.com/photos/31312887@N04/14393029436/ I moved the whole unit to the window where the sensor is so there's just glass separating them and the signal is -9. So it sounds like the module is functioning it's just not getting...

Getting Temp from La Crosse transmitter

I apologize if this has been covered but I've been searching for an hour and can't find a solution. I've just finished assembling my HM 4.0 and am trying to get an ambient temperature reading from my La Crosse weather station. It looks like it's seeing the transmitter but it's not reading the...
