Thanks Bruce. I did remove the paint. I didn't take it completely down to bare metal but I basically got it to the condition it was in before I painted it. Lesson learned.
I painted the outside of my lid sides with Krylon High Heat paint. Then, without thinking, I painted the inside of them. Did I mess up? Should I remove the paint from the inside or will it be ok?
I am restoring a silver b that I picked up and was wanting to know how to adjust the air mixture on the burners. I lit it and had alot of orange flame. The burners are good and I have a full tank of gas. What should the flame look like? Thanks
Hopefully this is a simple question. What type of nuts hold the side pieces to the lid. I need some and am going to try and pick some up locally. Are they stainless or what?
I noticed that the unrestored genesis in the picture has some haze on the lid. Is there any way to remove all of the haze. I have tried the simple green with 000 or 0000? steel wool. Still has a haze.
Thanks for the info. I purchased a stainless bolt and nuts in 316 grade from Fastenal. I painted the firebox with flat paint and didn't like it. It was just too flat. Going to get a gloss paint tomorrow.
Anyone have an extra right side trim piece for a 2003 silver b? It is Weber part # 2002. Just checking before I order a new one. I broke mine trying to remove it. It's amazing how stuck they get in there with rust. Thanks.
I'm working on a 2003 silver b that the bolt in the firebox was rusted and broke off. I drilled it out but I may have gotten into the firebox a little. My question is...can I put a stainless bolt with a nut or do I have to tap it and just put a bolt in it? Also what type of paint is best for the...
Be careful with this one. It's hard to tell exactly what condition the bottom accessory rack is in but if it needs replacing it is well over $100. I do see some rust on it.
