    External Battery Power

I use one with my HM (model A RPi w/WiFi) all the time. I get about 15-20 hours out of it using my DigiQ II 10CFM fan on my Big Steel Keg (adding servo in the future) . Here is a link to a similar model on eBay...

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

Initially, that's what it looks like to me, but I have a Dremel and I'm not afraid to use it ;) Lots of CAT5 keystones around work to experiment with though. Anyway, just banter right now. Absolutely no time to explore this, or anything else HM related, for at least another month.

HM version 4 Rpi 3d print case

I "upgraded" to an A, but already had the case, so mine has extra ventilation holes! I'll probably use the ethernet hole for a CAT5 connector to attain fan + servo nirvana!

    Switching to rPi "A" model

No problem switching over, once I fixed the loose contacts on the "A"'s SD card slot.

    Switching to rPi "A" model

Just got my "A" and thought I should be able to insert the SD card and boot. Then I thought I'd better make sure ethernet doesn't load on boot through the web interface before I do that. Do I need to do anything more? I am comfortable with command line and vi.

    ET-72/73 vs ET-732 Probes

Hi Troy, I went direct to Maverick and ordered 73s from this page: http://maverickhousewares.bigcartel.com/product/et-73-food-probe Got a 2 pack of food probes ($20 for the pair), a combo with one food probe and one smoker probe ($20 again) and a grill clip for $3 ($43 total). They're 3ft...

    Error sending data

Exactly, and a good thing too. I've got 5 port 80 (by default) devices behind my router.

    IC4 / RaspberryPi

Cool, was holding off on installing IC4 and was going to ask the same question. Although I noticed the premade HM Bryan sold had IC4 installed, so I figured it'd work. Thanks for clarifying.

    LinkMeter blower???

Andy, it'd be a good idea to check in on the Keg board for cooker specifics if you're not already there. You'll find all sorts of helpful information already there (FAQ and search), and plenty of helpful people (myself included) to answer questions. Chicken is a max 450* (350-400 preferred)...

    LinkMeter blower???

Hey Andy, we really have to limit the air getting in the keg. You probably know how long it takes to get it back down to temp if you overshoot ;) My HM isn't quite done yet and I currently use a DigiQ II with the 10cfm blower on my keg, which has a built-in damper (I'll be reusing that with...

WTB: v4 PCB shipped to Canada

They have doubled that shipping price. Sorry to hear that. Had I known, I would have bought at least one more (I know I'll have to build another HM one day).

Will v4 work w/o LCD or button?

Odd, I only got charged $8 for my mouser order to get to Vancouver via USPS a few months ago. Maybe they don't have that shipment option anymore?

    New start up issues

Sounds similar to what I experienced in this thread. I couldn't tell you exactly where the problem was, since I couldn't scope it out even with my big magnifying glass, but I can say that it was something to do with my soldering. Must have gone over every pad on the board before the problem...

How many Heatermeter/Raspi built so far

63 here. Had a couple issues, but all is fine now. Fun project!

    Finished, but no display

Done. Must have hit the right solder point when I was making sure I didn't have any shorts or cold joints. Either a cold solder joint or a low voltage short somewhere, but couldn't see it. Here she is ... Still a couple of things to clean up for fan attachment, but it works and I can see...
