    Brisket Sale

A small 3 store grocery chain has USDA prime briskets on sale starting tomorrow at $2.98lb. I have never bbq’ed a brisket before nor really have use for a whole one. I was thinking of cutting one into thirds if I buy. Appreciate your ideas on how to cut it? TIA...BG

    Suggestions for my first tritip

I like to trim all the fat off and cut the tri-tip into 2 pieces right at the black line shown in the pic above. I use (like) a 50/50 mix of McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Chicken and Steak seasonings. To bbq, I the sear both sides of the meat over very hot coals only about 2 minutes, then...

How do you light charcoal: Basket vs stacker

Chimney with 2 tuna cans with the bottom one inverted. Put 1/2-3/4 oz of 91% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol in the top tuna can, light and place chimney over them. 70% IA would probably work but would need to use a bit more.

    Desiccant

Think its safe to those desiccant packs inside my SJ and Go-Anywhere grills? I live in an area that gets a lot of marine layers (fog). Especially to protect my Craycort CI grates.

    SJ: Reverse Sear?

On the SJ yesterday, grilled a sirloin steak seasoned in a homemade marinade. Poured hot coals into a Weber stainless steel vegetable basket instead of the charcoal grate. Used the Weber Gourmet sear grate on top of the regular cooking grate. Closed the bottom vent to about a third open and...

More of a lurker, but had a few post under another user-name which have been unable to recover password so created a new ID. Favorite forum is "Photo Gallery"... to look-thru everybody's fabulous creations. Usually cook for myself so don't have much creative ideas, as such, I use the Weber's...
