My new to me WSM had 2 loose lower vent covers.
I read the section here on pounding the inside of the rivot, or replacing the rivot with a nut and bolt etc.
I took a "Bread Tie", one of those little ties you don't get too often anymore that keep the bread bag closed. burned the paper off with a match, theres a fine wire inside. With a small jewlry screw driver, worked the wire in the gap between the outside rivot head and the vent cover.
One cover was pretty loose and I used the whole lenght of the wire, wrapping it around the rivot stem several times. The other was not as loose, as the first and only took 1 wrap around the rivot stem. I gently tapped the wire in the gap with the small screw driver, tapping the screw driver lightly with a pair of pliers. Seams to have tightened the vent cover nicely. don't know how long it will last, but seams to work fine. John
