Located about 100 yards off I-35, Exit 294B to the West, on Central Avenue. If you are headed South, it's just a right turn off the ramp. If you're headed North, you exit to the traffic light and turn left on Central going under the overpass.

Enter the pit area and select what you want from brisket to chicken to pork chops to steak, all smoked over a mesquite (and I think oak) fire. Leave the pit going into the building and you go down a line to pick sides and desserts.

One thing that makes Schoepf's different from most Texas BBQ is their sauce. It has vinegar in where most of the other TX sauces are based on tomato - many of them on catsup (ugh).

In warm weather, there is music out back 'til 10:00 pm with some big name Texas groups playing occasionally.

If you are in the area, make a point of stopping by. You will enjoy it.
