Just Ordered My ET-73

Hi All,

I just ordered the ET-73 for an overnight Butt this weekend. Had some issues with my first overnighter last weekend so hopefully this will help me correct one of the issues. I will give you my beginners opinion after the cook.

I ordered a 2nd meat probe to plug it into the receptical that's labeled 'smoker'. That setup will allow me to measure temperatures of 2 pieces of meat simultaneously while using a lid mounted thermometer.

Just get a 2nd meat probe and you won't need a 2nd ET73 setup. And btw Maverick's customer service is great.

Anyone here switch from the ET-7 to the ET-73? I'm hating my ET-7 and wonder if I'd be happier with the ET-73. The ET-7 loses connection all too frequently.

James, use my ET73 all the time when I cook. I think now I'd be lost without it.Just replaced my old one when I fried it by accident(of course

) You just have to understand some of its' limitations and you'll be fine.

When the switch on the receiver breaks, and it will, turn it on and off by flipping a battery.

Michael, the ET-73 also loses connection, and also does not do anywhere near 100' unless it's on a straight line with no blockage.
