Unknown BBQ WSM Hinge

Why the step drill bit? Looking at HD & Lowes sites they appear to cost as much as the hinge itself...

Supposed to be cleaner hole with less chance of chipping / cracking the porcelain. I had a step bit, but it wasn't the right size. I just went from 1/8 to 1/4 drill bits. Got a little chip, not down to the metal, and it is hidden under the bracket.

Anybody put the hinge on a 22 WSM with caster wheels on it? Any problems?
I bought the wheels with brakes so it shouldn't be a problem as long as i remember to lock the wheels.

You can get a cheaper step drill at Harbor Frieght. I have them on 2 of my 4 WSM's, the ones we use competing. They are great. I can see no reason having caster wheels would be an issue, you just have tp pay attention to the instructions, and make sure that when you are using it, the hinge is aligned with one of the legs. If not, it could tip over

here's mine.... sitting on the kitchen table right next to me....
