My SmokeFire wish list

Love my EX6. The ease and convenience is quickly putting my SS Performer out of work.

here are some of the things I have done, and my “wish list” of some of the things I would like to see.

1. Timer for SmokeBoost. Would love to be able to set a timer for SmokeBoost, and then have it go automatically to my set temp once the timer expires.

2. Temp alarm. The notification is nice, but it really needs to be an annoying alarm, similar to the ThermoWorks signal. Especially important for overnight cooks should an issue arise.

3. floating lid for pellet hopper. Imagine it is doable, where the lid of the hopper could be opened either direction- towards the back of the grill to make it easier to pour from behind, or the current way it opens now for those that may not have access from rear.

4. Cloud connection. The ability to sign into my grill/cook from any device.Don’t need to connect every device via Bluetooth first- just need to establish a network connection with the grill, then can access from anywhere.

5 Rotisserie. I said it was my wish list. I know this presents a challenge, but given the cook space on the EX6, think a rotisserie would be really cool.

6. Cook history. Ability to go back and review the cook. Perhaps even add notes or comments. Just easier to keep everything here than trying to keep a notebook.

7. Drip pans. I know some place pans on top of the flavorizer bars. I have been using Kingsford 15.75 x 11.25 x 2.63, and place them below the flavorizer bars.Greatly reduces the grease from long cooks And allows for heat circulation. The kingsford are nice as they are pretty durable.

Every time I cook with it, I like it more. Not perfect, but what is?

I have been a traditional charcoal cooker, have the SS performer, 26 OTG and both the WSM 22 and 18. I am not finding the maintenance of the Smokefire to be much greater than any of those. With everything, there are going to be some trade offs, but so far, no major issues that some others are reporting.

My performer is the last of my charcoal grills. Due to fire restrictions during the summer we can't use charcoal. But I will say this, that will be the last grill that I will ever get rid of. From pizzas to KFC chicken with the vortex, there are some things my Camp Chef does much better and like your EX6 the CC has taken over some of the Performers cooks. I guess it's sentimental and technology moves use forward, but the stink of KBB firing up and the glow of the fire will keep me coming back.

Rich, IMO my Weber Performer Deluxe is prettier too! However, by the end of this year I plan to Add a Weber Spirit or Genesis to my BBQ Arsenal to enable me to grill some hot dogs, hamburgers ,etc. on the fly.
