Beer.

Finally made it to Stone Brewing up in Escondido - it's been on my list of breweries to visit for a long time.

Big full service restaurant, gift shop, brewery, and outside gardens.

Looks empty but everyone was sitting outside enjoying a nice day and overlooking the garden/pond area - bustling, busy, and a bit noisy.

We got a flight to sample to go along with lunch

After lunch we walked their small garden/pond area - nice.

Came home with a 6pak of their Hazy and Hop Engineer (single hop HRC-002, IPL)

Happy Saturday, everyone! :)

Went to Ballast Point Brewery/Restaurant yesterday for a late lunch and brews.

Enjoyed a flight (right to left)
Fathom IPA, Sculpin, Aloha Sculpin, and the Manta-Ray Double IPA

The only difference between their flagship Sculpin and the Aloha Sculpin was the yeast - very different color, body and flavors.

We came home with a growler of the Aloha - enjoying a glass right now

Enjoy your day!

Sounds like a good time. I like their Xocoveza. My neighbor’s son (Kyle Carney) was a senior brewer at Stones for about 5 years. He has since moved back to PA and has opened his own brewery in Philadelphia.

Went to Liberty Station back when Mitch was still the head brewer. Stone has a habit of putting together great places. About time for another SD run. It's been way too long.

Happy Saturday! :)

Enjoying a quiet peaceful day at home with some jazz music and tasty beer. Burgers and grilled corn later for dinner.

Full Count IPA from West Brew just up the road in Vista, CA. Thought it fit the mood with MLB about to start.

Enjoy your day!

Happy Sunday/Easter, everyone! :)

Blustery, rainy, chilly - thunderstorms on the way (supposedly). Enjoying an inside Sunday with a log on the fire, rewatching Father Brown Season 5, and a nice beer.

Pizza Port Brewing - Swami's IPA

Yesterday's visit to Pizza Port in Solana Beach after a sunny hike at San Elijo Lagoon

Two beers to go with the pizza we ordered (Swami's and 37th St Solana Beach IPA)

Fun fact about Stone Brewing - their first ever keg was tapped at this location

Came home with a 6 pak of Pizza Port's Mongo Double IPA

Happy Friday, everyone.

Enjoying an inside day on a gray chilly afternoon with a Pizza Port Mongo Double IPA - really well balanced.
