Bacon time

Grabbed a 9 lb slab at Costco (used $6 off coupon), so $20 for the slab. Cured a week with MTQ and brown sugar (Bob's cure). Soaked in sink of water to reduce the saltiness. Rubbed with maple syrup and smoked at around 200' degrees for about 4 hours using mulberry for smoke. Turned out really good. Only cooked 6 lb slab, save 3 lbs for a rainy day. Cheers!

Looks great, I bet that combination is tasty. I'll be doing a full slab 11 pounds cut into thirds on the camp chef in the next week, that will be my winter stash before the camp chef and myself go into our winter hibernation.
