I tried it, seems to work fine. I dont have a propane cylnder to compare it to but i cant see a reason myself not to use it. Just wanted more peoples input on it. I may ask weber when i call to ask for my axle that wasnt in the box....
I have cylinders of mapp gas on hand for my torch for lighting my primo. I notice the manual says to only use propane. Anyone know a good reason not to use it other than the manual says propane only? this is the stuff im refering too. mapp
try letting the lit coals sit open on the unlit for a little while before assembling the cooker. give it like 20 mins or so to get some more coals going.
im not sure beer or any liquid in the can makes any difference. As for smoke flavor, i find i have to be careful as i made a few birds that were way over smoked. What did you use for smoke wood? also if you raise the temp to 300-325 the skin texture will be alot better. I usually spritz the bird...
yes that would work, i know nothing about programming but thats probably easier than adding another option. I want to assign a loud/long email alert on my phone for the stoker so i know its a problem and not just some random email.
Just got networking and stoker running and email setup. Is there a way to have emails only sent for alarm conditions? Sorry if this has been asked but i couldnt find a setting for it.
Umm ya... dual boot it is! My wife would like windows on the notebook for some work stuff anyway. I have decided that Ubuntu is awesome till you ask it to pretend its windows.
i ordered mine on the 3rd and it got shipped on the 19th. However mine is somewhere in international mail limbo. Hoping to get it early next week so i can use it on the long weekend.
I'm admittedly an ubuntu noob. spent a bit of time yesterday trying to get stokerlog installed using wine with no sucess. If it dosent work thats fine i guess i will have to log on my desktop. I just want to know if its not compatible or if im doin it wrong.
Looks Great. Have a question tho. I want to do something similar when mine comes in but i worry a metal box may make the whole setup weigh too much to be convient. Whats your setup weigh? Also what did you do for passing the probe wires through the box? were you able to keep that weatherproof too?
