WTB: Black Durawood Slats

I need just 2 black durawood slats for a x000 project. Anybody got a couple of stray soldiers lying around that could use a new home? I’m also willing to entertain the idea of biting the bullet on a set if you have a full shelf’s worth and don’t want to break up the set. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

There is a brown lid Genesis 1000 with black durawood for sale in Arizona. I believe just like the one that you had. I know that doesn't really help much. If I was down there full time I would get it for you. I'm sure there's some salvageable black durawood on it. If you talk to the owner and he's willing to part with the black durawood I could go over to his house and swap it over with some regular wood. I would just have to pack a couple old slat tables in my luggage to swap him.

It's not a bad deal for that grill it even comes with new grates and flavorizer bars still in the box. I definitely wouldn't mind grabbing that black handle.

I agree about Arizona. They even seem to have Juniors down there and I've never seen one for sale around here.
I've never seen one for sale either, and I live less than ten miles from Weber headquarters. I've come to the conclusion that it's all about where you live. The Midwest weather is extremely hard on grills and there just aren't that many old ones left to choose from anymore.

I think they are going to be harder to come by but I think keep a close eye and they will still come up. That Genesis 5000 That Paul picked up for $150 was one of the nicest I have seen for sale and I was surprised that you all weren't racing to get it. But I know 5000 isn't what you are looking for. That grill is Prof that nice ones are still coming up.

I would have grabbed that 5000, I'm sure I knew about it before anyone else did. The problem with that one is it was missing one of the cabinet sides. I could see it in the pictures. I know you're never going to find that panel unless you find another grill to get it from and that doesn't work for me. One grill, one restoration on something like that. I'm still looking as you can see by the ones I just posted.

I'm also constantly on the lookout now for more Genesis Gold grills that I can restore and flip. They are very nice grills that people will pay up for when they are nicely done. Bonus for me is that I enjoy working on them and they are more plentiful at this point than Genesis 1000-5000 models.
