WSM BBQ Gasket Install

I purchased a gasket kit from BBQGaskets.com & installed in on the door & the top of the mid section but I can't see a "good place" to install the bottom gasket. It's either on the top of the bottom section or the bottom of the mid section. Either way there is no lip for the gasket to lay flat on as it is on the top portion.

If any of you all have installed a gasket please enlighten me on what to do. Pictures would be great!

Thanks

Mark

Install the gasket on the bottom of the mid section. I have done two. Pay close attention to the instructions for curing the adheasive. I dampened the material and pulled on it gently stretching it a little. That thinned the nomex out a bit and narrows it too. Lay the mid section on its side and apply the adheasive followed by the material. Lay it up against the bottom of the that ridge that connects with the lower section. I used a torch to fire up the adheasive that came with my kit. Pass it over the material a little but at a time. It starts the curing process. After an hour or so carefully assemble to two sections making sure to keep the gasket in place. Don't let it ride up over the ridge on the lower section. Build a fire in your cooker and finish the curing process. That's assuming of course you have The Rutland Stove Gasket Cement. That's what came with my two kits.

Thanks Gary - That was what I thought but before I did it I wanted to confirm. I don't have a torch so I'll let the fire in the cooker do the curing.

Thanks

You will be fine just make sure the material does not ride up on you before it cures, that's why I suggest to pull it a little to thin it out. You will have to use moderate pressure after you apply the gasket to separate the two sections from now on. You will be able to lock up that smoker afterwards. Really glad I did it.
