Can someone please tell me in what year did Weber switch from the 2 rivet handles to the single screw one. Was it all in one year or a gradual thing?
 
I believe sometime in the early 80's. I have a 1979 with the two rivet. I have a 1986 with the single screw. So by that sometime between 1979 and 1986. Maybe when they introduced the one touch?

"boo ya" is an out of use term kinda like "in yer face". used when you make a point. brian is still catching up with the 21st century.

, I had a 1981 (C) three wheel kettle with the riveted handle.

Logically, I want to say the 1981 models (C code) when they switched from steel bowl handles to wooden. I have never seen any 3 wooden handle bowls done in rivet style. I know the single screw style they were in place by 1985 (G).
 
I would love to know when Weber went from the early twist style ash pan, to the later twist style (like the current style but with the twist cut-outs) to the current style with the clips?
 
Hey check this thread. Apparently the two rivets were still in use in 1981, but they were the three wood handles now, no more metal handles on the bowl but all still riveted. Very interesting....

Yeah, that's the thread I found when I was on here the other day. I often take the black kettles for granted, but then I see how sharp they look with the wooden handles and it makes me want a black kettle with wooden handles to go with my redheads. But my wife would kill me. Well as for the rivits swap to single screw handles, I think we're narrowing it down to sometime between '82-'85. Anyone have any D, E, or F, examples out there?
