Where to find old lid for my 2000

I'm pretty much done the rehab of my Weber 2000 and I'm looking for a new lid. Mine is rusted and scratched badly - the only part of the grill that was not salvageable - other than the grates. I called Weber and the lid that they have is the newer style with a plastic handle and thermometer in the center. I think it would be a shame to put the later style grill lid on my near vintage Weber. Anyone know where I can get a lid?

i've seen old gassers on cl cheap. many times the lid is in great shape. just bid yer time. what color ya lookin for ?

Hey Jonathan,

I had been wondering how your rehab was going. You might get lucky with somebody here having a spare one but I agree with George, just keep an eye out on craigslist. hopefully you can find a reasonable one to salvage. In the mean time, you got any pics to share? It'd be great to see the progress!
