What is this part?

Can someone tell me if this came off of the 2005 Genesis Platinum C grill that I'm restoring? And if so, where does it go? Can't find it on any of the parts schematics or the assembly manual. TIA

Goes on the bottom of the tank mount/scale on Silver B's.

Edit* I should say that style started on silver B's but was used for a lot of years
