What are you giving? What's on your list?

Well, here we go again with another holiday shopping season... me/my family are blessed to have most if not everything that we need so we aren't really splurging too much this holiday season. We're also about to donate a bunch of toys my kids will never touch again and maybe some clothes they've outgrown. I'm thinking about making a cash donation to the VFW in honor of the veterans in my family and others who've served. Might also donate something to the non-for profit early childhood education in my town. Is there a charity that you like to support during the holiday season?

My cordless drill finally died so I'm getting a 6 pc Ryobi set that should last me until I'm done with "home improvements"... I'm super excited about having a sawsall because that's the kind of carpenter I am : ) Great deals on Ryobi right now if that's something you may need. I think I have all the bbq gadgets a guy could ever want/need, so there is nothing bbq related on my list but this is a great forum to ask for recommendations so fire away here if want to give that special someone a bbq related gift.

Yeah, same boat here. There’s nothing we need in life right now. We’re just buying stuff for our new house of which I think we’re already done with purchases. Bought a security system and an electric fireplace. We don’t know what we’ll get the kids. They’re all young adults sans the daughter who still lives at home while she’s still in college.

We upped our charitable giving and continue to donate to organizations that align with our life perspective and that help people in need. It’s a great feeling to help someone else who could really use a hand.

Life is kinda funny. The older you get, the more money you have, but the less you need to buy stuff.

The one thing DH and I give each other at Christmas are books that we both want to read. 11/13 was his birthday. Him, being a cheese lover,
I gave him 4 different Blue Cheese from around the world. He loved it.!!!! Maybe I can find something like that for Christmas for him. I wont say we have "everything we want or need" but at this age, close to it. My problem is how to get RID of stuff.

If anyone in Chicago area is looking for a charity (a worthy charity) to donate to. Please consider https://shepherdshopechicago.org/ This place does so much good for so many people in Englewood area of Chicago. An area that needs so much help especially now. My brother in law and sister started it and run it and have expanded it from the original little yellow bungalow to a closed Chicago Public School building they bought.
I cannot tell you how hard they work for helping that area
