My Silver B is getting up there in years. I have shopped around a little and I feel this grill is made much better then what is avail now days. My middle burner is getting harder to turn, wondering if there is a fix for this, or if I can rebuild the manifold? If not is there a place to pick one up reasonably priced?

You should be able to take the valve apart and grease it. You can get the proper grease at a heating supply wholesaler or at an appliance parts store. Grease the stem and put it back in the valve body and turn it a few times, then remove it again and make sure you haven't blocked any of the holes with grease, you only need a very thin coating.

I have the same grill. It won't heat up like it used to. It used to pin the thermometer in ten minutes. Now If I'm lucky I can get it up to 400 but it won't maintain the temp either. I've cleaned out everything. Any advice would be helpful. (Sorry to highjack the thread).

I have been searching the web for the correct type of grease. We no longer have hardware stores here. So a brand name or type would be nice.

Go to an auto parts store. Grab some of the black synthetic caliper grease. It works as good or better than the original. DO NOT GET SILICONE! Get the black stuff. Half a match head size bead can just about do all 3 valves

Bill a regular hardware store wouldn't have the grease anyways.Make sure whatever you use is rated for use with LPG and NG gas not sure if you have Ferguson HVAC supply near you but you should be able to get it through them.

Keith I would guess you have a restricted orifice, there could be a spider nest in it and the only way to completely clear it is to remove the orifice. If you simply stick a pin or other object up the orifice it won't completely clear it, you need to remove it from the valve to properly clear it. You may also have partially blocked ports in the valve stem. If the grill is LPG your regulator may also be defective. If it NG there is a possibility that the gas pressure from your gas regulator has lowered, NG grills are rated for 7" wc gas pressure which is the normal gas delivery pressure for residential applications. Any chance the gas utility did any work to your meter or regulator for the house?
